Do human rights of others, strangers (not family and friends), really mean anything in the real sense to each of us? I question this.

If they mean anything, why are so many so quiet when it comes to insisting technology (one of the few concrete means) to be in the service of protecting our human and civil rights? One would think this'd be the ultimate use of science, anyway, in this supposed land of the free and home of the brave.

Personally I feel very sad, being the time in history, where we have the means to protect human and civil rights through technology, but utterly lack the will to implement it.

The stories in the papers, on the tv, radio and elsewhere are only the tip of the iceberg. They are told by these media, mostly because they have some sensational component to them, not because these media outlets have as their number one value, altruism.

Most of what goes on in the realm of injustice concerning police, and its ensuing "justice system" avalanche of "injustice," is hidden. It's time to seriously question what goes on in our justice system---and see that it does not stand up to the bright light of cold, hard fact, and reality based investigation. ---At least not to the guarantees of human and civil rights in this country to which the U.S. touts to the world its supremacy.
